Cut costs on your printer ...

Printing at home costs tons of money. Esp. with inkjet printers, the costs of the cartridges is often higher than the cost of a new printer. Two easy steps to make the printing a bit less expensive: - install the printer twice on your computer: once as a black-and-white, and once as a colot one. This will make you reflect each time whether you really need this color copy. - Try third-party inc cartridges: many chains now offer their own brands compatible with your printer. Sometimes the functionality is slightly different, for instance the lighting up of the cartridge when empty, but the price per page drops again. In case you print a lot at home, you shuold consider to buy a laser printer. While the initial investments is somewhat higher, the price per page is significantly lower.

Leftover recipes?

In the Netherlands, people know the term "Kliekjesdag". They use this to indicate the day or meal consisting of left-overs from previous meals.

Isn’t this a great way to limit your weekly expenses? Take a specific day of the week, organize a "Kliekjesdag", and do something creative with things lying in your fridge.

Why not put left-over fruits in a smoothie (adding some yoghurt if you wish). Or make a nice soup with vegetables you are not used to mix in. Or make a meat-loaf using the meat from the days before, added with vegetable and potatoes?

Any great ideas and suggestions for Kliekjesdag meals, please share with us.

Drink more water ...

Another way to reduce your spendings is to drink more water.
Leave your daily soda's aside, and buy water instead. If you do not like the taste of tap water, try with a Britta filter. In a couple of weeks you'll have the investment back, and moreover you reduce the amount of sugars you take in. So you win double!!
And for those that drink light and zero variants, you reduce the intake of potentially dangerous sweeteners.
