In the Netherlands, people know the term "Kliekjesdag". They use this to indicate the day or meal consisting of left-overs from previous meals.
Isn’t this a great way to limit your weekly expenses? Take a specific day of the week, organize a "Kliekjesdag", and do something creative with things lying in your fridge.
Why not put left-over fruits in a smoothie (adding some yoghurt if you wish). Or make a nice soup with vegetables you are not used to mix in. Or make a meat-loaf using the meat from the days before, added with vegetable and potatoes?
